Ditch the morning commute, and start working from home. First step, set up a home office. We believe that you should be able to work from anywhere you want, especially from the comfort of your own home. Working from home requires a bit of work to get started, but once you have your home office up and running you will be able to get to work without the daily rush hour. To get your office up and running, we have 5 tips to help you out.

1. The Perfect Space

Whether it’s a spare room, a corner in your dining room, or a spot right in your living room, find the perfect spot to create your home office. Make sure it is separate from your home space. This is important to keep out distractions, and still maintain separation between work and your home life. Having a separate space also lets you stay organized with what is work related, and what is home related. You also want to make sure your space is

2. Tech

Cover your basics for technology when setting up your home office, from a computer, tablet, or other physical devices. Also ensure you have all the programs that you need in order to work effectively from home. Having to run out to get items printed, needing a software that isn’t installed on your personal computer, or any other tech issue that arises, can impact your flow of work and waste time.

3. Great Furniture, Chair

Get the right furniture to change your office. A great desk that fits your stuff, right down to the perfect chair. Since you will be spending about 8 hours a day in your home office, you want it as comfortable as possible. Using an old chair from your kitchen won’t cut it in the long run. Invest in a great chair that supports, is comfortable, and won’t make sitting down all day a daunting task.

You could even forgo the chair entirely and get a standing desk.

4. Decor

A blank white wall may look nice, but it is incredibly boring. Make sure your office is decorated to fit the feel that you want when you work. Vibrant colors, subtle patterns, fresh plants and even personal items such as photos help keep your home office space mentally stimulating and a positive space you will want to work in.
